Montessori Organizations

CANADIAN COUNCIL OF MONTESSORI ADMINISTRATORS (CCMA)
The Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators (CCMA) “provides mutual support and services to its members and acts as a unified voice to organizations and agencies.” All members must be accredited by the organization. This involves an in depth review of all policies and procedures, a self-evaluation, and an on-site visit of each class by two consultants. The re-accreditation process is repeated every 5 years.
Since the name “Montessori” is not protected, the label can be used by anyone, anywhere. CCMA accreditation is one means of assuring parents that a school using the term Montessori is meeting the highest standards of Montessori education.
ASSOCIATION MONTESSORI INTERNATIONALE
The Association Montessori Internationale was founded by Dr. Maria Montessori “to maintain the integrity of her life’s work, and to ensure that it would be perpetuated after her death.”

“The American Montessori Society (AMS) is the foremost advocate for quality Montessori education, an innovative, child-centered approach to learning…. AMS is also a hub of all things Montessori: an information center for its members, the media, and the public; a voice in the public policy arena; and a mobilizing force for the global Montessori community, through support services, research, and professional development events.”
NORTH AMERICAN MONTESSORI TEACHERS ASSOCIATION
The North American Montessori Teachers’ Association (NAMTA) links Montessorians with their legacy and their future. Its services include print publications, audio visuals, conferences, and research.”
CANADIAN ASSOCIATION OF MONTESSORI TEACHERS
