OMS Montessori is committed to ensuring the safety of our students, staff and families. The classrooms, washrooms and common areas are cleaned and sanitized during the noon recess when staff and students are outside and again in the evening following a thorough cleaning. Additional scheduled cleanings are done throughout the day.
Outdoor areas such as playgrounds and equipment are fogged following the use by each cohort and prior to a new cohort using the space.
Before entering the school each day, Parents complete a digital screening survey confirming the health of their child. At arrival, each student has the outside
of their backpack sanitized and their temperature taken and recorded.
Screening staff are wearing proper PPE as directed by Ottawa Public Health including a mask and facial shield and are behind plexiglass.
OMS is committed to following all directives from Ottawa Public Health, MInistry of Health and Ministry of Education with regular updates to our families and staff.
Our classrooms remain welcoming environments with full Montessori materials although tables and chairs are spaced to ensure physical distancing.
Some materials have been modified to ensure surfaces can be cleaned and sanitized daily.
We appreciate the commitment our families have made to further ensure the safety of our school community.
