Our Montessori Teachers have internationally recognized certification (Association Montessori Interntionale) and our Second Language and Physical Education Specialists are certified in their particular fields. Toddler Classroom Assistant (for children 18 months – 2.5 years of age)

OMS Montessori is seeking a dedicated and energetic Montessori Assistant for one of our Toddler classrooms, beginning September 2017. We are a leading non-profit Montessori school, with enrolment of over 250 students from Toddler through Grade 6. Celebrating our 52nd year of education in Ottawa, OMS Montessori School is located in the heart of a residential neighbourhood in Ottawa. Hours for the Assistant’s position currently available are from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Classrooms are well-equipped with materials and each room will be staffed with a Montessori Lead Teacher and two Assistants. Well-qualified candidates must hold a RECE (Registered Early Childhood Educator) certification, have experience working with children, display a strong commitment to team work, and possess a strong sense of professionalism.

Experience is preferred, but we are interested in dedicated, collaborative, and joyful candidates.

Casa Classroom Assistant (for children 2.5 years – 6 years of age)

OMS Montessori is seeking a dedicated and energetic Montessori Assistant for one of our Casa classrooms, beginning September 2017. We are a leading non-profit Montessori school, with an enrolment of over 250 students from Toddler through Grade 6. Celebrating our 52nd year of education in Ottawa, OMS Montessori is located in the heart of a residential neighbourhood in Ottawa. Assistant’s hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Classrooms are well-equipped with core Montessori materials and each room is staffed with a Montessori Lead Teacher and two Assistants. Well-qualified candidates will hold a RECE (Registered Early Childhood Educator) certification, have experience working with children, display a strong commitment to team work, and possess a strong sense of professionalism. An RECE certification is not required but recommended.

Applicants should have a deep respect for children, a positive attitude and kind heart, flexibility, and a good sense of humor. Montessori training is not necessary, though familiarity with the Montessori philosophy and a strong desire to support the Directress in its implementation is imperative.

Infant Toddler Teacher (Diploma for 0 – 3 years of age)

OMS Montessori is seeking a dedicated and energetic Montessori guide for a new Toddler class, beginning September 2017. We are a leading non-profit Montessori school, celebrating our 50th anniversary this year, located in the heart of a residential neighbourhood in Ottawa. The guide’s hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the class has experienced assistants.

There is currently one Toddler class of 14 students and we are expanding to start a second classroom within our close community of approximately 300 students from Toddler to High School. We have a warm, collegial atmosphere with over 50 caring, experienced staff who are deeply committed to Montessori principles. The salary range is $39,686 to $70,133 depending on education, training, and experience.

Requirements include Montessori Infant/Toddler certification, experience working with children 0 – 3 years of age, excellent communication skills and the desire and ability to work as part of a team.

Lead Teachers at all Levels (Toddler – High School)

OMS Montessori is accepting resumes for lead teachers at all levels, Toddler through Secondary. Applicants must have a university degree and be Montessori-certified through a MACTE approved training centre. Classroom experience is preferred, and references should be provided. Class Substitutes

Position Available: Occasional daytime work
Hours of Work: Shifts between 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Job Description: We are looking for individuals to work with children from ages 18 months to 12 years. Occasional daytime work, Monday to Friday. Experience with young children preferred, bilingualism would be an asset. Police record check required.
Salary: $14.47 per hour.
