What did Maria Montessori know about how your child best learns when she created her philosophy of education and timeless learning materials? How does Montessori education meet the developmental needs of the child academically, socially and emotionally? Faculty members at each level will present Montessori principles taught at OMS Montessori and connect current research in education, neuroscience and 21st Century educational goals to our school’s curriculum and teaching methodology. Research, handouts and a bestselling book will be provided to each family who attends this Parent Education evening.

Childcare will be available complimentary to registered attendees. You are encouraged to bring a neighbour, family member or friend.

Saturday, May 28, 2016: 50th Anniversary Gala

OMS Montessori is in its 50th year of service. We will be celebrating all year, but will also host a formal 50th Gala on Saturday, May 28th at Centurion Centre.

This Gala will include a formal three course meal, live entertainment and a DJ. We are thrilled to announce that alumni student Jonathan Estabrooks will be performing for us. Ottawa native and OMS Montessori alumni, Jonathan Estabrooks, who currently resides in New York City, continues to make waves with theatre and opera companies around the world including Vancouver and Seattle Symphonies and most recently stepping in last minute as Bum Phillips in a Texas opera premiere. Traveling to the famed Westlake Studio, he released his debut album with legendary producer Dave Reitzas (Groban, Streisand). Fusing elements of classical, pop and classic musical theatre, Jonathan’s performance is guaranteed to be compelling and energetic.
